Getting the call that your prized trophy is ready to come home is better than Christmas morning! Over time, dust and fading can dull even the best mounts. Here are some simple tips to keep your hunting memory looking vibrant for years to come.

Picking Up Your New Mount

•  Deer, Antelope, Fox, Raccoon & similar sized mounts will usually fit in the back seat of a car.

•  Elk, Moose, Bear & Mountain Lion sized mounts will need a pickup truck or trailer.

Feel free to call us with any questions: (208) 201-8772

Mounting Your Trophy To The Wall

It is very important that your new shoulder or lifesize mount is securely anchored into wall studs.

Your mount will arrive with hanger(s) already installed on the back. Mounts with multiple hangers are spaced 16” on center.

Recommended hardware:

•  Deer, Antelope & smaller lifesize mounts (Fox, Coyote, etc.): Use a 3” to 3.5” wood screw securely placed into a wall stud.

•  Elk, Moose & large lifesize mounts (Bear, Mountain Lion, etc.): Use a 3” long 3/8” lag bolt securely placed into a wall stud.

Always make sure your fasteners are going into solid wall studs.

Yearly Cleaning

Hollow Hair Mounts:

(Deer, Elk, Antelope, Moose)

Mix a small amount of Dawn dish soap with water. Use a lightly damp rag and wipe in the direction of the hair growth. Do not scrub against the hair.

You can use the same solution to gently clean the antlers/horns.

Avoid the painted areas (eyes, nose, and lips).

Do Not use an air compressor to blow out hollow hair mounts

Long Hair / Fur Mounts:

(Black Bear, Red Fox, etc.)

Use an air compressor to blow out dust and fluff the fur as needed.

Extra Tip: The eyes are glass. Use one side of a lightly damp Q-tip to clean each eye, then use the dry side to remove excess moisture. You’ll be amazed how they sparkle again!

Important Things To Avoid

•  Direct Sunlight: UV rays will fade and discolor your mount.

•  Heat Sources: Keep away from wood stoves, fireplaces, or any strong heat.

•  Smoke: Cigarette, cigar, and fireplace smoke will yellow and damage the mount.

•  Uncontrolled Storage: Avoid long-term storage in attics, basements, or storage units (temperature swings and pests can cause serious damage).

•  Pets: Keep mounts out of reach of cats and dogs.

•  Excessive Handling: Frequent petting can disturb hair patterns and lead to hair loss over time.
